Central Minnesota Freethinkers began as Central Minnesota Friends Free of Theism in August of 1997 with support from Minnesota Atheists and ACLU of Minnesota. We changed our name to its current version in early 2011. We've been meeting in a friendly, round-table atmosphere ever since, discussing rationalism, humanism, and atheism as it pertains to our daily lives and the world.
We welcome new people and new ideas at any time. Check our events calendar for the date and time of the next meeting and any upcoming social occasions.

Our logo glyph is a dragonfly, a creature close to the hearts of many here in Lake Country. Symbolically we think it conveys the freedom of flight and the grandeur of nature in its capabilities. Culturally it's said to represent many things we appreciate as freethinkers, such as transformation, new beginnings, grace, and love.
Our previous logo, an abstract human figure, shows the exuberance of enlightenment. Look closely and you can find the stylized letter F, and possibly an A for atheism and an H for humanism.
