Once upon a time we enjoyed regular writing from members of our community. That has dropped off, but we'd like to keep their work available for future readers. Enjoy.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
July 21, 2011, St. Cloud, MN – Central Minnesota Freethinkers, formerly Central Minnesota Friends Free of Theism, a St. Cloud area organization of humanists, rationalists, freethinkers, atheists and agnostics, has funded a scholarship sponsoring a student to attend one week at Camp Quest in Minnetrista this summer. Central Minnesota Freethinkers made a donation of $489 this year. There is a waiting list annually that has children who want to attend camp but can’t afford the fee.
Camp Quest if Minnesota (minnesota.camp-quest.org) is affiliated with National Camp Quest (www.camp-quest.org) of Ohio, the first secular summer camp for youth in the history of the United States. Camp Quest was specifically designed for children of Unitarians, atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, humanists, or whatever terms might be applied to those who maintain a naturalistic, rather than supernaturalistic world view.

Friends,
It has been more than a year since I wrote to you about the organizational progress of Atheist Nexus. This was primarily due to my waiting for our previously discussed projects to be fulfilled. I am happy to report that many of our goals have been accomplished, but we have barely scratched the surface.
Where We Stand
As I write this, we have nearly 23,000 active members. On top of that, there are a few hundred thousand individuals who visit Atheist Nexus regularly who have not joined. We are also more diverse than ever before. We have hundreds of members in all 50 United States and member representation in every country of the world. Our subgroups now total 850+. These include numerous “official” groups for local and international organizations.

If you're a regular visitor you may have noticed that our site URL has changed recently. Twice, actually. Since we changed our organization's name, we thought it appropriate to change our address as well. We're now at cmfreethinkers.org. Several other domains redirect here, including our original URL, freeoftheism.org, so no one should find him- or herself completely lost.
