Join Central Minnesota Freethinkers for an evening with author James Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman is the writer of Deliverance at Hand!: The Redemption of a Devout Jehovah's Witness (published in late 2013 by Freethought House). The meeting will be April 21, 2014 at the St. Cloud Public Library 7 – 8:30pm in the Bremer Room.

James Zimmerman is a member of the Minnesota Atheists Editorial Board, a former editor of The Minnesota Atheist newsletter and a frequent host of Atheists Talk television show. His writings has appeared in The Humanist, American Atheist, The St. Paul Almanac, Atheist Voices of Minnesota, and several other magazines and books. James is a life-long Minnesota resident and currently lives in St. Paul with his son, his daughter, and his very pregnant wife.

His book recounts his life as a zealous Jehovah's Witness, his defection from that faith, and the ramifications of leaving a religion in which members are instructed to shun former members. James will compare the Witnesses with other religions, discuss their "evidence" that we're living in the last days, explain what nonbelievers often get wrong about the religion, and reveal some little-known aspects of the Witnesses' religion. He will also shed some light on the Witnesses' policy of shunning former members, citing examples from his own life.

Deliverance at Hand!: The Redemption of a Devout Jehovah's Witness is available at major booksellers including Amazon (paperback and Kindle) and Barnes & Noble (paperback and Nook).
